Revised National Tuberculosis Control Program

Current Status and Situational Analysis:-
In Chhattisgarh, RNTCP was launched in 4 districts in 2002 and achieved state wide coverage in the year 2004. A total of 27 District TB Centers, 152 TUs and 551 DMCs are providing the diagnostic and treatment services in the State. The TB suspect examined per lac population has increased from 452/lac in year 2013 to 652/lac in the year 2015.

TB Notification

Chhattisgarh has initiated the mandatory TB notification from private practitioners & chemists. TB notification from private sector has increased from 3/lac in the year 2013 to 30/lac in 3Q16.

Programmatic Management of Drug Resistant TB

Decentralizing the diagnostic services for Drug Resistant TB, CBNAAT is installed in 9 districts of the state (Raipur, Bilaspur, Jagdalpur, Ambikapur, Raigarh, Korba, Durg, Rajnandgaon and Kanker). Also, the state has 4 wards for DR-TB patients. Till date 12,640 DRTB suspects were tested, of which 787 DRTB cases were diagnosed and 629 of them were initiated on treatment.

TB-HIV Coordination

90% of TB patients know their HIV status which is higher than the national average. This has resulted from close collaboration with CGSACS where all the DMC without ICTC have been made as FICTC.
