Child Health

Newborn and Child Health are the two key pillars of RMNCH+A Strategy. Child Health programme comprehensively integrates interventions that improve health of the newborn and children and is aimed to decrease Infant mortality and Under Five mortality. Various activities under the programme emphasizes continuum of newborn care ensuring that every newborn receives essential care right from the time of birth and first 48 hours at the health facility and then at home during the first 42 days of life. Care is being provided at the facility with the delivery of a newborn through the provision of essential newborn care and the care is extended at the home through community outreach and through various Health centres at various levels as well as schemes.
